Perfect mix of houses for sale and to let
The new neighbourhood has space for around 300 houses for sale and to let. From sustainable housing in the old faculty building to comfortable and energy-efficient new-build flats and single-family houses. The leafy surroundings with plenty of greenery provide a quiet setting with plenty of space, while the Grand Café will be the place people go for the buzz and bustle. This meeting place on the neighbourhood square will be the beating heart of the area. The shops, cafés and restaurants and the other amenities in the buildings on Michiel de Ruyterweg complete the picture.

Green and safe with nature as the backdrop
Ready for the future
Biodiversity, climate adaptation and sustainability are key factors in the development of the neighbourhood. For instance, there is plenty of space for wadis. These green ditches catch water when there is excess water and store it for drier periods. There will also be plenty of green spaces between the houses and there is also a park on Julianalaan, which is part of the new neighbourhood. There will be solar panels and greenery on the roofs wherever possible. This creates an environment in which water is collected and stored, which in turn lowers the likelihood of heat stress when temperatures are high. Thanks in part to the underground car park, the neighbourhood will be a green, low-traffic area and safe place to live. A place that offers peace and quiet and plenty of space; a place to meet up and where children can play safely. Gele Scheikunde is ready for a green and safe future, with space for nature.
Space to live
The new neighbourhood offers many convenient amenities. From a caterer to a cosy Grand Café in the old auditorium. And from a yoga studio to a bicycle repair shop, for example. Underneath Gele Scheikunde there will be a parking basement where residents and employees of the shops, restaurants and other facilities can park their cars. Special spaces will also be created for parking bicycles, giving the public area all the space it needs to enjoy life.
